Several named awards are also prominently displayed in honor of some of Purdue's most influential and inspiring leaders. Their significant contributions to Purdue and its student body paved the way for future generations of Boilermakers to take Giant Leaps.
The John C. Smalley Outstanding Student Employee Award
Lisa Frank
Lisa Frank is a senior studying Law & Society with minors in Psychology and Human Resource Management. She has worked at Krach Leadership Center for nearly two years, and thoroughly enjoys getting to know visitors, building tenants, and her lively coworkers. After her upcoming graduation, she will be moving to North Indy to fulfill her accepted role as a Paralegal for a local law firm. With excitement and gratitude, she will be starting this new chapter by taking all she has learned at Purdue and exploring this new chapter of life.
The Charles E. Dunn Outstanding Student Employee Award
Abhishek Krovvidi
Abhishek Krovvidi is a graduate student pursuing his master’s in Business Analytics and Information Management at the Daniels School of Business, Purdue University. While pursuing his education as a full-time student, he joined Purdue Food Company as a part-time student worker and later got promoted to the position of a student lead. After his graduation, Abhishek is eager to leverage his data science skills to drive meaningful business outcomes.
The Madonna A. Warren Outstanding Student Employee Award
Gavin Corley
Gavin Corley majored in hospitality and tourism management with a minor in event planning. During his time at Purdue, he was able to join multiple extracurricular programs on top of being a part of the Launch internship program at the Union Club Hotel. After graduation, he will be moving to Austin, Texas to be an event manager at the Westin Downtown.
World War I & II Honor Rolls
To establish a permanent monument to patriotic service, the Purdue Memorial Union building is dedicated as a perpetual memorial to theses sons of our alma mater who, in the performance of the highest duty of citizenship and in devotion to lofty ideals, gave their lives in the service of their country. It is proudly displayed on the first floor of PMU.

The Founder and Presidents of Purdue University
Purdue University was founded in 1869 by John Purdue and is currently led by the 12th University President and former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. This display depicts the founder of Purdue University, John Purdue, as well as the 11 former Presidents of Purdue University. This display was a gift of the Class of 1921 on the occasion of its 50th reunion and is located on the first floor of PMU.

One Brick Higher Award
The One Brick Higher Award is named after the famous quote of former Purdue President James Smart, who vowed that once the original Heavilon Hall had been burnt down, it would be built “one brick higher.” This award was created to recognize the importance of individuals who make a difference in our lives by going beyond their required role.
